Fondazione Aldini Valeriani attended a ceremony of 'Award-winning of projects for European Language Label 2009' held at the Italian Representation of the European Commission in Rome. Both the National Europass Centre in Rome and Fondazione Aldini Valeriani gave a speech about the Europass Language Passport and the elp-DESK project.

21 December 2009 - Web seminar with Italian National Europass Centre and Fondazione Aldini Valeriani
A web seminar organised by the National Europass Centre in Rome with the cooperation of a platform present in the Friuli Venezia Giulia region was held on 21.12.09. Participants were asked to register in advance and were able to ask questions to the speakers (such as Fondazione Aldini Valeriani) via a chat system. FAV was able to answer their questions either in written form or via headphones.

3 October 2009 - Goethe-Zentrum Bologna Open days
Fondazione Aldini Valeriani attended the open day event organised by Goethe Zentrum, which was held on October 3rd at their institution. Fondazione Aldini Valeriani made a presentation of the project and then distributed some brochures to the participants. It also agreed with the Goethe Director to mention the project to all their students (as they already use the European Common Framework of Reference for Languages along with their own evaluation on their certificates) and distribute our material during the courses and cultural events.
5 October 2009 - Workshop on tools and Initiatives Organised by Tempo Training and Consulting (CZ)
o receive the appropriate feedback on tools and initiatives currently under development, the workshop with the employers and students was initiated. Participants had opportunity to provide their suggestions and mention solutions, which would be interesting for them.
7 October 2009 - Careers Service First focus group open to students and recent graduates
About 20 recent graduates were present with the colleagues from Careers Service. A presentation was made by Fondazione Aldini Valeriani on the elp-DESK project with a first general overview of all Europass five tools and then with a specific focus on the CV first and then on the Language Passport. After a mid-morning break, a practical session was held, explaining how to fill out the ELP and giving about ten minutes time to all participants to read the assessment grid and then asking them to try to assess themselves in their language skills. The participants were able to get individual support in identifying their language skills and could ask any questions concerning the tool.
The next focus group will be held on March 2nd 2010.

22 October 2009 - Fondazione Aldini Valeriani practical seminar “How to guarantee linguistic skills in companies”
'How to guarantee linguistic skills in companies', was a local event aimed at a corporate context to describe the Europass Language Passport, a tool designed by the European Commission to share a unique and transversal standard on language knowledge, mainly supporting the human resource department in companies or temporary agencies in the first phase of recruitment as well as an audit of staff already employed in the company.
The following speakers participated to the event: Alessandra Biancolini, National Europass Centre, Rome, Gianfranco Coda Europe Direct, Bologna, Marina Castellano Confindustria Emilia-Romagna, Mauro Molinari S.G.M. DISTRIBUZIONE S.r.l., Forlì.
After the speeches, a practical session was held, describing how to use the Europass Language Passport: how to fill it out, how to read it, what is the value added for a company, and giving support to companies wishing to implement the Europass Language Passport in their context.

22-25 October 2009 - Reykjavik, Iceland. Contact seminar
Attended by Crystal (UK) who informally presented the work of the project to the representatives of a wide range of organisations from across Europe - 20 countries represented by 100 participants.
30-31 October 2009 - 'Do you know what Social Europe can do for you?'
Circus campaign is a way of raising awareness of EU social policies in 2009.
The EU recently launched a campaign to raise awareness of these very practical policies. It uses a series of eye-catching and provocative posters with circus images to illustrate nine different areas of EU action. This circus motif continued in a series of animated cartoons, as well as events across Europe in 2009. An event was held in Bologna on 29-31 October 2009, where Fondazione Aldini Valeriani was present the whole day of Friday 30 October distributing leaflets, giving information about the elp-DESK project to the citizenship and with a practical seminar from 2 to 3 p.m. on the Europass Language Passport.

25 September 2009 - Night of researchers
'The night of researchers' was held in the street where most university faculties are present. Fondazione Aldini Valeriani was there distributing leaflets and giving out information to interested people along with Europe Direct, ASTER, the University of Bologna and other cultural associations.

25 September 2009 - Presentation of the Project Results and Next Steps by Tempo Training and Consulting (CZ):
Providing information about the reached results continuously is one of the most important things. That is why, the seminar regarding the current results and outputs of the elp-DESK project was undertaken and the participants were provided with the information, what they can expect in the next months.

31 August 2009 Presentation of the Current Situation in the CZ:
Results from research and interviews: There was prepared workshop clearly and briefly summarizing the results obtained during the desk research and interviews in the framework of the elp-DESK project. During the workshop were participants kindly asked to provide also their feedbacks, opinions and come up with suggestions/solutions, which could help to improve the current situation.

Opportunity for UK projects funded under the EU Lifelong Learning Programme to share their experience with others. Crystal was able to talk to delegates about the elp-DESK project as the National NEC had a stand at the event and they allowed Crystal to use their facilities.
